High Focus Records
Brighton independent founded by Fliptrix in 2010, a home for UK hip hop.
High Focus was started by rapper Fliptrix in 2010, after the collapse of Low Life Records, initially as a way to get his own album out quickly. Friends including Jam Baxter and Leaf Dog asked if he would release theirs too, and the label grew from there.
Based in Brighton, it set out to give the next generation of UK hip hop MCs and producers a platform and to resurrect the legacy of UK rap at a point when few labels were investing in it. Dirty Dike, Leaf Dog, Jam Baxter and Ocean Wisdom have all released defining records here.
